Key Questions Answered
If you do not complete your e-KYC by the deadline, your gas subsidy will be temporarily suspended starting October 1, and you will have to purchase cylinders at market price without the Rs. 210 central government subsidy. However, your gas connection will not be disconnected, and cylinders will still be supplied to you.
You can complete your Aadhaar-based facial authentication e-KYC online through your gas company's mobile application, such as 'IndianOil One' for Indane and Bharat Gas, or 'HP Pay' for HP Gas. Alternatively, you can do it offline by visiting your gas agency office or using the distributor's biometric machine.
The Union Ministry of Environment and Natural Gas has made e-KYC mandatory to prevent the misuse of domestic cooking gas cylinders for commercial and business purposes, as well as to cancel fake connections.
