Germany has completed its internal administrative process for the proposed Project-75I deal with India to supply six state-of-the-art conventional submarines, worth approximately $8 billion or about ₹70,000 crore.

Under the proposed agreement, Germany's ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) and India's public sector company Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) will jointly build the six submarines in India.

The submarines will feature an Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP) system enabling them to stay submerged for two to three weeks without detection. The first submarine is expected to be delivered approximately 7 years after contract signing, followed by the remaining five annually.
