Key Questions Answered
Tamil Nadu Ministers C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar and Aadhav Arjuna challenged the order that granted the DMK permission to file a defamation suit seeking one crore rupees in damages against them and the TVK IT wing.
DMK General Secretary Duraimurugan filed the petition because the TVK ministers and IT wing publicly accused the previous DMK government of letting Gem Granites owner Veeramani escape without action in a sexual assault case.
The judges stated that prior notice should have been served before filing a suit against the ministers, instructed the registry not to number the main suit after an assurance was given not to press it, and listed the appeal petition for October 13.
