Key Questions Answered

Users can add an eligible card directly through the latest version of the Axis Bank app or open the Wallet app on their iPhone, tap the plus button, and follow the instructions. Once successfully added, the card is ready for immediate use. On an Apple Watch, users can double-click the side button and hold the display near a contactless reader.

At launch, Apple Pay in India exclusively supports eligible credit cards issued by Axis Bank on the Visa and Mastercard networks. RuPay, India's domestic payment network, is not supported, and Axis Bank serves as the initial banking partner for the rollout.

Apple Pay ensures transaction security by never sharing the user's actual card number with merchants. Instead, it relies on a unique device-specific number and a transaction-specific security code. For Mastercard and Visa transactions, tokenisation replaces card details with unique, cryptographically secured tokens to protect sensitive financial information.
