After operating exclusively through partners and employers for six years, health benefits platform Aiqa has entered the direct-to-consumer healthcare segment. The Gurugram-based company is betting on growing consumer spending on preventive health, fitness, and routine health monitoring outside traditional insurance-linked services.

Aiqa appointed Anuj Arora as the chief executive officer to lead its partner and employer business. Arora brings 23 years of experience across India, Southeast Asia, and Hong Kong, having most recently served as executive vice president and business head at MediBuddy.

Aiqa will begin its consumer push with Weight Care, which is a doctor-led weight-loss programme. The company plans to roll out this offering and additional healthcare programmes over the coming months through its newly unveiled website.
