Key Questions Answered

Pune Rural Police uncovered the murder conspiracy after reviewing CCTV footage from the fort's ticket counter, which showed a hooded individual trailing the couple, later identified as Chetan Chaudhary. Investigators also gathered extensive digital evidence, including call detail records, WhatsApp chats, and evidence that the accused used ChatGPT and watched crime-related films to plan the incident and avoid police detection.

The accused created a fake Instagram account named 'Mahi' using a woman's photograph to send messages convincing Ketan Agarwal to visit Lohagad Fort on June 18 under the guise of a surprise birthday plan involving his fiancée, Siya Goyal. The fake account was subsequently deleted after the incident.

According to the chargesheet, the accused initially planned to take 25-year-old Ketan Agarwal to Bengaluru to break his bones, but abandoned the idea after a friend of the accused named Ritesh Hange objected and refused to support the plan. They also attempted to prevent a pre-wedding photoshoot trip by tearing Ketan's passport, prior to executing the murder plot at Lohagad Fort.
