India's Farmer Producer Organisation sector has crossed 49,800 registered entities, according to the sixth edition of the State of the FPO Sector (SoFPO) 2026 report.
The report was launched on Monday by the National Association for Farmer Producer Organisations (NAFPO) in partnership with NABARD.
Women-led FPOs face systemic barriers such as low land ownership among women, which is estimated at around 13-14 per cent, and limited access to capital that constrains their ability to invest and access formal finance.
