Hinge is introducing several trust and safety features in India, including a phased waitlist for new members, Face Check for profile verification, Block List at onboarding to avoid acquaintances or exes, and Screenshot Protection on profiles containing personally identifiable information. These features are designed to enhance security and user confidence from day one.
The Block List at onboarding allows users to prevent themselves from seeing or being seen by people they already know, such as family members, colleagues, or exes. Meanwhile, Screenshot Protection blocks screenshots on surfaces with sensitive personal identifiable information like Discover, Likes You, and Standouts, though chat screenshots remain allowed for reporting concerns.
Hinge offers tools like Signals to recognize consistent daters, Comment Filter for filtering unwanted remarks via custom lists or AI, and Match Note to share key values or boundaries before chatting. It also features "Are You Sure?" and "Did This Bother You?" prompts to encourage respectful communication.
