Chief Minister Pema Khandu unveiled several completed infrastructure projects under the Pasighat Smart City Mission in East Siang district, including a newly developed Siang riverfront, an upgraded market area, smart roads, a smart guest house, a district e-library, a recreation centre, solid waste management facilities, and an integrated command and control centre.

The Pasighat Smart City Mission was funded through a convergence of central and state resources, with approximately Rs 490 crore provided by the Centre, Rs 51.77 crore by the state government, and Rs 3.94 crore raised via convergence funding.

Pasighat was granted smart city status in June 2017 following sustained efforts by the state government. This makes Arunachal Pradesh the only state in the Northeast region to possess two smart cities, namely Pasighat and Itanagar.
