A special NIA court in Delhi allowed U.S. national Matthew Aaron Van Dyke and six Ukrainian nationals to travel home to the U.S. and Ukraine for a month to visit their families following the dismissal of UAPA charges against them and the release of their passports.
The seven individuals were arrested in connection with a case concerning allegations of illegal entry across the Mizoram border and training ethnic armed groups in Myanmar on drone warfare.
The court permitted them to travel for one month, directing them to return to India afterward, inform the court within 72 hours of their return, provide valid contact details and addresses to the NIA within 24 hours, and join the investigation physically or via video call when required.
