Reports indicate that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has interrogated former Chennai Police Commissioner Arun IPS regarding the case. Prior to this, the Tamil Nadu government had placed him on the waitlist along with other officers following initial allegations of police inaction when the complaint was first raised.
A total of seven POCSO cases have now been registered against Gem Veeramani. While six cases had already been filed against him, a new POCSO case was recently added to the total count.
