Key Questions Answered
The Pune Sessions Court sentenced Subhojit Sadhan Basu to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 10,000 for strangling his 23-year-old younger sister to death.
After killing his sister, the accused called an IIT Kharagpur professor and confessed to the crime, prompting the professor to immediately alert the Pune Police Control Room.
The court rejected the fabrication because calling a professor immediately after the murder, expressing remorse, and talking about surrendering proved the accused was fully aware of his actions.
