Varanasi Ravan Dahan 2023: BLW to Ramnagar, check venues, timings and traffic routes

Key Questions Answered
At the Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) ground, the Ravan effigy stands 70 feet tall, with Kumbhakarna at 65 feet and Meghnad at 60 feet. Uniquely, this year's Ravan features only 1 head instead of 10, and artisans crafted it using silk cloth rather than paper after a month and a half of work.
For security and crowd control reasons, all entrance gates of BLW—including Kakarmatta, Main Gate, FCI Gate, Nathupur Gate, Pahari Gate, and Kandwa Gate—will remain closed from 2:00 PM until the Ravan effigy burning concludes.
Apart from BLW, Ravan Dahan events take place at Lanka Ground in Ramnagar with a 50-foot effigy, Maldahiya intersection with a 40-foot effigy, and locations like Gurudham, Bhelupur, and Jawahar Nagar. At Maldahiya, vehicular movement from Englishia Line to the intersection is completely blocked prior to the burning.
