Neha Bora completed her secondary and higher secondary education in Siliguri. She earned her undergraduate degree from Delhi University and a master's degree from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Theater and Performance Studies within the School of Arts and Aesthetics at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
Growing up in North Bengal exposed Neha to figures like Charu Majumdar, Pablo Neruda, and Arundhati Roy, which helped her distance herself from the right wing. Before committing to politics, she was an active theater artist with a group named Sangwari, an experience that inspired her to understand ordinary people's struggles and become politically vocal.
Neha Bora, along with other activists from the Cockroach Janta Party movement, faced detention by Delhi Police after attempting to shift a protest demonstration toward Dilli Haat when access to Jantar Mantar was blocked. Despite being detained on Saturday, she urged her supporters via social media to keep the movement going wherever they were before being released later that day.
