According to the India Meteorological Department, very light to light rain is expected at isolated places in high-altitude mountainous districts, with light snowfall likely at elevations of 3,500 meters and above. Meanwhile, the weather in the plain districts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar is predicted to remain completely dry with bright sunshine.
The weather will change in Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts, where fresh snowfall may occur on peaks situated at an altitude of 3,500 meters or more.
Meteorologist Rohit Thapliyal explained that the withdrawal of the monsoon in October does not mean rain has completely stopped. Due to an active western disturbance and sufficient moisture in the atmosphere, conditions for short spells of heavy rain, hail, and high-altitude snowfall can still develop.
