Key Questions Answered

The Money Restoration Module is an online platform launched on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre. It allows victims of cyber financial fraud to apply online to get back money held or frozen in bank accounts without needing to visit court in every case.

Registering an FIR is mandatory when the frozen amount in a single bank account exceeds Rs 50,000. For single or total amounts up to or equal to Rs 50,000 across accounts where no single account exceeds that limit, an FIR or court order is not required.

Victims should immediately call the 1930 helpline or register a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal to receive an acknowledgment number and prompt financial institution intervention.
