Sunita Devi, the wife of district BJP treasurer Neeraj Gupta from Mahoba, and her son Shashank tragically died in the fire. Despite having walking difficulties and being seated at the back, Shashank refused to abandon his mother and perished trying to save her.
A total of nine passengers tragically lost their lives after a private sleeper bus traveling from Delhi to Mahoba caught fire. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced financial assistance of two lakh rupees for the families of the deceased and fifty thousand rupees for the injured.
