Key Questions Answered

Punjab BJP leader Sunil Jakhar wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah requesting a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into drug networks operating from Punjab's prisons and an Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation into money laundering linked to the drug trade.

Jakhar drew attention to a drug case from Mansa involving a drug inspector arrested in 2024. Assets worth crores were uncovered, including Rs 7.09 crore across bank accounts, cash, gold, and real estate, with the DGP describing the inspector as a gang kingpin.

According to Sunil Jakhar, after the arrested drug inspector was granted bail, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government reinstated him in service and gave him an important posting at the department's headquarters.
