The gang operated a call center named 'Shaadi Partner' in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, using fake profiles, internet photos, and staged phone conversations to deceive bachelors. They registered firms, acquired real bank accounts and SIM cards to appear authentic, and charged small fees ranging from Rs 2,500 to Rs 15,000 under various pretexts before cutting off contact.

Delhi Police arrested the mastermind of the operation, a 29-year-old lawyer named Amit Kumar, along with Jai Shakya, who was listed as the owner of the firm, and eight female tele-callers during a raid in Agra.

The scam was exposed after a resident from Delhi filed a complaint following a loss of fifteen thousand rupees and realized he was communicating with a different person than the photo provided. Investigation into the bank account under 'M/S Shaadi Partner Dot Com' revealed multiple complaints from victims across the country, leading to the police raid.
