The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has prepared a proposal to install a new 10-kilowatt capacity FM transmitter in the elevated area of Dattapitha to improve radio services in Chikkamagaluru district.
MP Kota Srinivas Poojary submitted the proposal to establish a new 10-kilowatt capacity FM radio station in the district, to which the Ministry positively responded.
According to the Ministry's official letter, the proposal to install the 10-kilowatt FM transmitter at Dattapitha has been taken up for approval under the upcoming 2026-31 planning period.
