By August 12, 2026, there were approximately 589 million Jan Dhan accounts established to bring unbanked people into the formal financial system. Out of these accounts, about 55.74% were held by women, and roughly 77.8% were located in rural and semi-urban areas.

When the Jal Jeevan Mission was initially launched, only 3.23 million rural households across India had tap connections. By May 2026, over 106 million new LPG connections had been distributed under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. This initiative fundamentally transformed traditional cooking practices by replacing smoky wood and cow dung fuels with clean gas cylinders in millions of households.
