Key Questions Answered
Deputy Chief Minister and senior JDU leader Vijay Chaudhary stated that the NDA will contest the elections with mutual consensus and successfully win all eight seats.
The rivalry stems from past conflicts, notably the 2015 Mokama assembly election where Anant Singh defeated JDU candidate Neeraj Kumar as an independent, leading to ongoing resentment. Currently, Anant Singh has openly opposed sitting MLC Neeraj Kumar and announced support for independent candidate Dr. Anuj Singh.
The deep-rooted hostility originated during the 2015 Mokama assembly election when JDU fielded Neeraj Kumar, but Anant Singh contested as an independent and defeated him by a margin of about 18,000 votes.
