Prahaar Movie Review: Rajkummar Rao Leads A Case Of Missed Opportunities

•Prahaar – The Ujjwal Nikam Story suffers from a bumpy and disjointed screenplay that struggles to balance multiple narrative threads including terror trials, family drama, and Ajmal Kasab's background.
•Despite strong intentions and a powerful real-life subject covering high-profile cases like the 26/11 attacks, the film loses its central focus and dramatic momentum over its runtime.
•Rajkummar Rao delivers a decent yet mechanical performance as Ujjwal Nikam, constrained by a somewhat one-dimensional character arc on paper.
•Jaideep Ahlawat as Zulfiqar and Sikandar Kher as defense lawyer Kazmi impress with their impactful portrayals, bringing nuance to the cross-border and legal dimensions.
•Lalit Prabhakar steals the show with a raw, layered, and chillingly unsettling performance as the terrorist Ajmal Kasab.

Prahaar – The Ujjwal Nikam Story is scheduled to release in cinemas on August 7, 2026.

Actor Rajkummar Rao stars as special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam in the biographical film.

Marathi actor Lalit Prabhakar plays the role of Ajmal Kasab, the lone terrorist captured alive following the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
