Key Questions Answered
When applying online through the Mahavitaran portal, farmers must provide the 7/12 land extract showing a recorded water source, an Aadhaar card, and a mobile number and email. Additional documents may include a Scheduled Caste or Tribe certificate if applicable, a no-objection certificate from joint land co-owners, or an NOC from the concerned department if the water source is in a dark zone.
Beneficiaries from the general category are required to pay 10 percent of the total cost for the solar agricultural pump. For farmers belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories, this payment amount is reduced to 5 percent.
The pump capacity is allocated according to the extent of the farmer's agricultural land area. Farmers owning up to 2.5 acres are eligible for a 3-horsepower pump, those with 2.51 to 5 acres qualify for a 5-horsepower pump, and those with more than 5 acres can receive a 7.5-horsepower pump.
