  • •Acquitted in all 13 Nithari cases, Koli was released from jail last year; his death has also prompted questions from a Nithari victim's family.

Key Questions Answered

Chandan Koli and other family members questioned the suicide angle after observing blood flowing from the body, blood stains around the mouth and nose, and a rope tied tightly around Surendra Koli's neck.

Surendra Koli worked as a domestic help at the Noida residence of businessman Moninder Singh Pandher, where skeletal remains and bones of victims were discovered in 2006. Although initially arrested and convicted in multiple cases, he was ultimately acquitted in all 13 cases, with the Supreme Court allowing his petition in November 2025.

Police found that Koli had been living in Haridwar under a false identity using the alias "Sadaram" for about four to five months, working briefly as a security guard and renting a tea stall just days before his death.
