The five-year-old girl, Arealia Moses, was allegedly murdered by Vikram, a former security guard at the Villa Orchid gated community, who had been removed from service and held a grudge against the association and the child's family. He abducted her during Bathukamma celebrations, tied her up with a heavy stone, and threw her into a water sump before demanding a Rs 20 lakh ransom.
Police tracked the suspect using mobile phone signals and examined CCTV footage from the gated community, which showed Vikram leaving the basement alone after the incident. Malkajgiri police deployed ten special teams, utilized technical evidence, and successfully tracked down and arrested the accused within 24 hours.
Police detained three security guards—Sunil, Jayaraj, and Hare Krishna—for questioning to determine their role or what they knew about the crime. During interrogation, one of the guards reportedly stated that Vikram had disclosed to them that he killed the child and dumped her body in the water sump.
