Veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away at the age of 75 in the early hours of Thursday after suffering a heart attack. He was found unconscious at his Goa apartment and was subsequently taken to a private hospital, where he was declared dead.

Nana Patekar was set to collaborate with filmmaker Anil Sharma on two upcoming directorial projects, titled “Gadar 3” and “Arjun Naga”. The actor had personally asked Sharma to write a character for him in “Gadar 3” while they were developing his role, and Sharma was also going to narrate “Arjun Naga” to him.

Nana Patekar was actively involved in doing plays and enjoyed that phase of his career, but close friend and late actress Smita Patil forced him to enter the film business. She recommended his name to Ravi Chopra for the film “Aaj Ki Aawaz,” which ultimately paved the way for his career in Bollywood.
