Former West Indies captain Shivnarine Chanderpaul stated that the limited-overs series against India breathed new life into the Caribbean team and boosted the players' confidence. He expressed belief that the team can now win matches anywhere in the world and hoped this positive performance will translate into Test cricket.
Although India won the ODI series, West Indies gave them a tough challenge in both ODIs and T20Is. After losing the opening match, the West Indies bounced back by winning the second and fourth matches to level the series, and they also won the final ODI match against the hosts.
Chanderpaul noted that the primary challenge for the West Indies moving forward will be carrying forward their limited-overs success into the Test format. He pointed out that while they have secured a few recent wins on Caribbean soil against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the Test team still needs to work hard and secure more victories.
