The Cricket Advisory Committee quizzed candidates about Rohit Sharma's ODI future, why Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is not making the T20I playing 11, and potential replacements for Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill.
Ajit Agarkar decided against asking for a contract extension because he informed Rohit Sharma he was not part of his future plans, a decision the BCCI bosses disagreed with, leading to secretary Devajit Saikia publicly backing Rohit.
Former India opener Wasim Jaffer and former spinner Ramesh Powar are considered the front-runners for the position, though the BCCI reportedly prefers interim chief selector Pragyan Ojha to continue, making Powar the likelier choice.
