Starting October 1, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation revised toll rates at five Mumbai entry points. Mini buses and light commercial vehicles now pay Rs 90 per trip, buses and trucks pay Rs 180, and heavy motor vehicles are charged Rs 225.
Private cars, SUVs, and public transport buses continue to travel toll-free at all five entry points. Light vehicles have remained exempt following a state government decision made on October 14, 2024.
Toll collection was originally set to end in November 2026, but the deadline has reportedly been extended to September 17, 2029. This extension compensates the contractor for a Rs 900 crore loss incurred after light vehicles were made toll-free in 2024.
