Key Questions Answered

Under the SUNIYO 2.0 scheme launched by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, taxpayers can clear their principal property tax dues for 2026-27 and the preceding seven financial years without any interest or penalty. Once these dues are paid, older liabilities and arrears from prior to 2019-20 are completely waived.

Taxpayers who have a total property tax liability amounting to Rs 5 lakh or more are provided with an instalment facility. They are permitted to make their payments in equal instalments throughout the duration of the scheme period, subject to specific prescribed conditions.

Property owners with pending litigation cases in court must submit an undertaking in a prescribed format and formally withdraw their pending legal proceedings to qualify for the scheme. Additionally, they must agree not to seek any refunds or adjustments for amounts already paid or recovered during the case.
