Under the Master Plan for Delhi-2047, a 138-hectare Education Hub is planned in Narela, featuring space for universities, research institutions, vocational training centres, and start-ups. The plan also provides for higher Floor Area Ratio (FAR) for schools and residential facilities, along with dedicated spaces for children with special needs.
The proposed Medical Hub aims to improve healthcare access via a network of hospitals, medical colleges, speciality facilities, and wellness centres. It also seeks to strengthen Delhi's position as a medical tourism destination by including provisions for de-addiction centres, rehabilitation facilities, and long-term care services.
The DDA held its ninth and tenth stakeholder consultations focusing on the proposed education and medical hubs under the guidance of Lieutenant Governor Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu. These meetings are part of a three-month outreach programme comprising about 20 total meetings to gather feedback for MPD-2047.
